Craftly

Craftly is a Shopify theme for shops that sell things people make things with, and things people make. Yarn and tools, kits and patterns, supplies and finished work. It ships with a product finder that turns a couple of questions into a filtered collection, and a product page built out of blocks you can rearrange.

What you need

Craftly works on any Shopify plan. Nothing in the theme requires an app.

Two features do depend on settings you make in your Shopify admin rather than in the theme:

  • Filtering on collection and search pages comes from Shopify's own filters. Install the free Search & Discovery app and set your filters up there. Until you do, Craftly hides the filter panel rather than showing an empty one.
  • Complementary products on the product page come from the same app.

Installing

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
  2. Under Theme library, choose Add theme → Upload zip file.
  3. Select the Craftly zip, then choose Upload file.
  4. Choose Customize to open the theme editor, or Publish to make it live.

Making it yours

Craftly's look lives in Theme settings, not in the sections. Colors, fonts, spacing, corner radius, shadows and card style are set once and every part of the shop follows.

Two places are worth knowing about before you start:

  • Colors holds five schemes. Every section picks one of the five rather than carrying its own colors, so changing a scheme changes everywhere it is used. The five that ship are checked for contrast; if you edit them, check the text still reads against its background.
  • Product cards decides how every product looks in every grid — the collection page, search, featured collections, related products. Set it once here instead of section by section.
