Frequently asked questions

Do I need any apps? No. Craftly works with no apps installed. Two features read data from the free Search & Discovery app: filtering on collection pages, and complementary products. Both hide themselves if you have not set them up.

Will changing the theme settings undo the pages I have built? No. Colors, fonts, spacing and shapes live in Theme settings and apply across the shop. Your sections, your content and your products are untouched by them.

Why is the filter panel not showing? Filters come from Shopify, not the theme. Install the free Search & Discovery app and add filters there. Craftly hides the panel when there are none, rather than showing an empty one.

Why does my product finder return no results? Almost always because a filter value does not match. In the finder question, the right-hand side of each option has to be exactly the product type, vendor, tag, variant option value or metafield value as it appears on your products. Check one product to confirm the spelling.

Where do product ratings come from? From Shopify's standard rating metafield. Any review app that writes to it will show ratings with no setup from you. Craftly does not depend on any particular review app.

Can I add a discount code field to the cart? No, and no Shopify theme can. Discount codes are entered at checkout. Craftly shows discounts that have already been applied.

Can I add a wishlist? Not in the theme. Wishlists need to store data per customer, which is what apps are for. There is an app block slot on the product page and in the Apps section for one.

My header logo looks blurry. Upload an image at least twice the width you set. A logo shown at 130px should be at least 260px wide, so it stays sharp on a high-resolution screen.

How do I change the colors of the Shop Pay button? You cannot, and neither can we. Shopify sets those and requires that themes leave them alone.

Does Craftly work in more than one language and currency? Yes. If your store sells in more than one country or language, Craftly shows the selectors in the header and footer automatically. They stay hidden when there is only one of each.

Is the theme accessible? Craftly is built to WCAG 2.1 AA: keyboard navigable throughout, visible focus, labelled controls, and the colors it ships with all clear the 4.5:1 contrast minimum. If you change the color schemes, check your own combinations.

Can I edit the code? Yes. Duplicate the theme first and edit the copy, so you always have the original to go back to. Note that a customised theme cannot be updated automatically. If you want changes you would rather not maintain, hire a Shopify Partner.
